Our organization was founded by on a simple but powerful belief: Water is Alive! It’s not just a resource — it is a living system.
Water has always been at the center of life on planet Earth. Healthy lakes, rivers, wetlands, and soils depend on complex living systems that recycle nutrients, support biodiversity, and maintain ecological balance.
Yet around the world, many water systems are under increasing stress. Pollution, nutrient overload, and waste accumulation are disrupting the natural processes that keep ecosystems functioning.
When the living biological systems within water become unbalanced, the entire ecosystem begins to suffer. People begin to suffer. Restoring those biological processes is key to restoring the health of our waterways and populations around them.
Water Is Alive was created to explore solutions that work with nature to rebuild these living systems.
From Waste to Restoration
One of the most overlooked challenges in modern environmental systems is the growing volume of organic waste.
Food waste alone represents a massive untapped resource. Instead of allowing this material to end up in landfills, Water Is Alive explores ways to transform it into something beneficial.
By using food waste as a source for cultivating beneficial microorganisms, we can create biological tools that help restore natural water and soil ecosystems.
These microorganisms support the natural recycling processes that allow water and soil systems to maintain balance. What was once considered waste can instead become part of a regenerative environmental solution.
This idea led to the development of TerraBoost, a biological approach designed to help strengthen the microbial communities that support healthy ecosystems.
Our Mission
Our mission is to restore the living systems of water.
We work to develop sustainable biological solutions that help ecosystems recycle nutrients, break down pollutants, and regain their natural balance.
By transforming food waste into beneficial microbial communities, we aim to support healthier water systems, healthier soils, and a more sustainable relationship with the environment.

Our Vision
We envision a future where environmental restoration works with nature rather than against it.
In this future:
• Waste becomes a resource rather than a problem
• Natural biological systems are strengthened rather than disrupted
• Water and soil ecosystems are able to regenerate and sustain themselves
By connecting environmental science, resource recovery, and ecological stewardship, Water Is Alive seeks to contribute to a new generation of regenerative environmental solutions.
